Parkbytext, Unified Parking Launch Cashless Service in Portland, ME

May, 2016

Parkbytext, the leading mobile parking operator hailing from Dublin, Ireland, and Unified Parking Partners of Portland, ME, have rolled out the parkbytext cashless service in the city.

Customers now have the convenience of paying for parking by SMS, app, the parkbytext customer care team, or online through www.parkbytext.com, in 17 lots in the city’s Downtown, Old Port and East End areas.

Customers can use the service as an account holder or one-time user. As an account holder, a free service, they can top-up their account with credit or debit card, and then pay for their parking using their account balance. They also can securely store their card information for automatic account top-ups.

Some benefits of being an account holder include extending your stay from wherever you are; text reminder options; ability to print parking receipts; and automatic account top-up.

CEO Jim Moore said: “Our dedicated IT team has developed ‘time-zone capability’ in our proprietary system, which is enabling our continued U.S. expansion. ...”

Unified District Manager Asher Chappell said: “This is a great time for [us] to bring smartphone parking to Portland, because people, our customers, are becoming more reliant on these technologies. It is a natural progression within the industry, and we are always looking to give our customers the best possible service options.”
